The Challenge
The building required a safe, permanent method of roof access together with collective fall protection around the roof perimeter. The solution needed to minimise disruption to the hospital while providing long-term compliance with current Work at Height Regulations and industry best practice.
Our Solution
Our team installed a fixed access ladder complete with a ladder guard and a self-closing safety gate to provide secure and controlled access to the roof. To protect maintenance personnel working at height, we also installed a freestanding guardrail system around the roof perimeter, creating a continuous barrier without compromising the building's functionality. The installation was completed efficiently and in accordance with the project requirements, providing a robust, low-maintenance safety system suitable for ongoing building maintenance.
The Result
The completed installation has significantly improved the safety of the rooftop by providing secure access and reliable collective fall protection. The hospital now benefits from a compliant roof safety solution that helps reduce risk for maintenance contractors while supporting safe access for future inspections and servicing.
